FOLKÂ STITCH BLEKINGE
Swedish folk stitch from the County of Blekinge. A lot of different stitches are used, a dominating one is the one sided satin stitch which will transfer into long and short stitch on larger areas. Also typical for Blekingesöm is the artful lattice stitches used to fill larger areas in flowers and baskets. Other characteristics are the mixed colors, knot stitches, dots and the types of leaves depicted.
INTRODUCTION TO SWEDISH FOLK EMBROIDERY

This class is an introduction for the embroidery novice as well as for the more accomplished stitcher. We will cover two Swedish Folk stitches, Halland stitch and Blekinge stitch, as depicted on the left. Material for a sampler as well as up to 2 embroideries are included. This class can be from 3 hours up to at least 20, over several occasions, depending on your groups needs. Taught by Lotta Rantil
